CyberWorks :

Cyber Florida's Cybersecurity Workforce Development Program

Deadline to submit your application:

Monday, May 13, 2024

About the Program:

Cyber Florida: Florida's Center for Cybersecurity housed at the University of South Florida is proud to offer CyberWorks, our cybersecurity workforce development program. Throughout the program, students have opportunities to learn cyber defense fundamentals through expert instruction and hands-on learning exercises of a curriculum aligned to the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cybersecurity Workforce Framework work role of Cyber Defense Analyst. To ensure workforce readiness, CyberWorks students will also be able to connect with industry professionals and potential employers and participate in professional development workshops and activities. For completing this program, students will receive an industry certification voucher to take the CompTIA Security+ certification exam.

While it is not required, it can be helpful for applicants to have previous cyber-related education or training experience, such as computer and networking basics. The workload of this online course is comparable to an upper-level undergraduate college course; therefore, those ready for a career change should be prepared to make the 2-month commitment of putting forth the necessary time and effort to complete this course along with their current work and family responsibilities. We expect students to spend at least 20 hours per week dedicated to the program. CyberWorks is offered at NO COST to Florida Residents; therefore, seats are limited.

Hybrid Delivery Includes:

  • 8-week CompTIA Security+ Online Course which includes virtual lab assignments, and quizzes to be completed  + one week to take the CompTIA Security+ certification exam.

  • Virtual orientation event on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
